Call for Book Chapters

नवनीति Social Impact calls for chapter proposals in an edited volume synthesizing academic literature on UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth).

This edited volume explores the interconnections between education, gender equality, and decent work within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals 4, 5, and 8. It adopts a sociological and policy-oriented approach to examine how education systems—from school education to higher and vocational education—shape access to skills, employment opportunities, and economic participation across different social groups. The volume seeks to analyse structural inequalities related to gender, class, region, and other forms of social disadvantage, and their implications for education-to-work transitions, job quality, and labour market outcomes.

The volume welcomes interdisciplinary contributions that engage with education policy, skill development initiatives, and social protection mechanisms aimed at promoting inclusive and sustainable economic growth in education / skill development industry. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of schools and teachers in preparing learners for work, citizenship, and lifelong learning, including classroom practices, curriculum design, and school-level interventions that support equity and inclusion. Contributions may include empirical research, policy analysis, comparative and international perspectives, and reflective accounts by educators, practitioners, and policymakers. Through these diverse perspectives, the volume aims to bridge research, policy, and practice in advancing inclusive education systems.
